Even the most beautiful interior design can be spoiled by inaccurate installation, installation errors and improper preparation of the room. Decorative moldings are a unique finishing element that becomes the dot over the “i” when it comes to the arrangement of our home. However, when improperly glued, stucco can look sloppy and not durable. In this case, how to prepare for the correct installation of stucco to avoid an arrangement disaster? Follow the basic rules for installing stucco, and bet on a proven and high-quality mounting adhesive.

Installation of stucco should be preceded by proper preparation of vertical surfaces. The walls must be clean and degreased, so before installation it is worth vacuuming and wiping them with a cloth. They should also be dry. If wet cleaning, wait until they are completely dry and the water has evaporated from the surface. Even the best mounting adhesive may not be able to handle attaching to a dusty, damp wall.

What to glue polymer strips with?

For the installation of stucco wall molding, made of polymer, Mardom Decor Fix Pro glue will work well. This is a product designed for the installation of moldings made of plastic – it is used to fix wall products made of PolyForce, as well as ProFoam. Fix Pro is an excellent choice for untrained users – its standard setting time is a few hours, which allows you to make minor adjustments during the installation of the selected stucco. It will work well for installing both skirting, wall and ceiling moldings.

Mardo Fix Pro glue is an excellent adhesive for fixing PolyForce polystyrene and ProFoam polyurethane moldings and stucco, as well as for creating joints between ProFoam moldings.

To ensure the best stability and adhesion of the adhesive, we recommend applying the product to the flat part of the trim in a waving motion. A common problem of falling off stucco is improper application of glue on the surface or too little glue.

Attention!

Before installation, we recommend painting auxiliary lines with a pencil or marking the places where you plan to attach the moldings. This will help you install the stucco pieces to the wall more quickly and accurately.

What kind of glue will work for curtain slats?

This type of moldings, due to the small adhesive surface and attachment only to the ceiling, requires a specialized product. Mardom Max quick-drying hybrid adhesive will be perfect here. It is characterized by high adhesion and very short drying time – only 8 seconds. Due to its high bonding strength, Mardom Max can be used on smooth and porous surfaces. It is a product designed for use by skilled installers, as it does not allow any corrections after sticking to the wall or ceiling. It will work well for curtain moldings, but also rosettes and other polymeric stucco elements attached at great heights. Adapted to products made of PolyForce and ProFoam.

Rules for masking the joints of Mardom Decor mouldings

When installing stucco, a very important factor is to choose the right adhesive for joining the moldings and filling the gaps. It provides better adhesion to the wall, and masking allows you to hide the joints between the pieces and give the wall arrangement a uniform and smooth look. In the case of Mardom Decor stucco, it is very important to match the right adhesive to the material from which the stucco is made.

Fix Pro – a mounting adhesive, which we have already mentioned in the context of fixing wall decorations. This product will also be perfect for masking and creating permanent joints between products made of PolyForce. It will also work great for masking small irregularities in the wall. Simply apply the adhesive to the edges of the already installed trim, and then remove the excess. Thanks to its white color, the product will effectively camouflage any gaps between the wall and the molding.

Fix Extra – adhesive composition based on polyurethane, does not contain solvents. The product is designed for grouting and creating tight joints between decorative profiles made of ProFoam. The glue is transparent, so that after drying it becomes completely invisible.

Putty in the process of installing skirting boards

This is an additional installation element, in addition to the adhesive, which will help to achieve a flawless appearance of the moldings. Putty is most often used for skirting boards. It is used to mask large cavities formed in the material or between the profiles of the skirting boards. The joint compound should be applied in a small amount to the holes that were not covered by glue. Then wait until the mass is completely dry and gently sand off the excess material smoothing the structure. The resulting arrangement simply needs to be painted in any color.
