Ceiling curtain rod grille – why choose it?
Curtain rail enclosures are becoming increasingly popular. They have been known in the art of interior design for a long time. The original aluminum models that were part of the curtain rail have gained a new quality and today have the form of impressive stucco.
The ceiling curtain rod grille performs several important functions in interior design. First, it hides unsightly curtain rails or rod, as well as wall irregularities, creating a smooth line between the ceiling and wall. Instead of a visible mechanism that often spoils the overall appearance of the window, you get an elegant finish that harmonizes with the rest of the interior.
Secondly, it protects curtains and drapes from dust that could accumulate on the curtain rod mechanism. This protective function prolongs the life of the fabrics and makes it easier to keep the room clean. Third, it has a decorative function – the curtain rod masking profile can harmonize with other stucco elements in the room, creating a cohesive finishing composition.
What’s more, modern curtain rod grilles are made of durable materials that are resistant to moisture and UV rays. As a result, they can be installed in any room – from the living room to the bathroom. In addition, the possibility of painting with paint allows you to match their appearance to a specific interior color scheme.

Mardom Decor curtain rodWhat are the types of ceiling curtain rods?
Before you choose a curtain rod grille, you need to determine the type of mechanism you will be masking. There are two main options on the market – rails or rods. The choice depends on the type of curtains or drapes you plan to hang and the intended visual effect.
Each of the options can be installed in double or single versions. It all depends on the effect you want to achieve and how many layers of material you plan to hang around the window. Regardless of the type of mechanism, properly selected profiles masking the curtain rod will easily cover the unsightly design.
Rail
It can be easily cut and modified for the dimensions and shape of the interior. It will work well for non-standard surfaces. This type of ceiling curtain rod is most often found in aluminum form, making it lightweight and easy to install. Its small dimensions make it hardly visible and it is quite easy to create a suitable installation that fully conceals it. However, due to its subtle form, it is not suitable for heavy curtains and drapes. It is recommended to hang light curtains and airy materials on it, which will not overload the structure.
Stick
Convex, three-dimensional and definitely visible form. Because of its massiveness, the creation of a built-in can be slightly difficult – the curtain rod bezel must be properly selected to fully cover the entire structure. However, the rod is durable and stable, so you can successfully hang heavy materials on it.

LED curtain rod cover stripProfiles for built-in curtain rail with possibility of mounting LED tape
LED curtainwall enclosures are currently a very trending design solution. LED lighting mounted at the height of the window is an additional source of light that further illuminates the room, providing better visibility. At the same time, it introduces a unique atmosphere to the interior – the light subtly surrounding the curtains looks very impressive, and on long winter evenings it will add atmosphere to the interior.
Mardom Decor led bezels
Curtain rail enclosures with LED lighting are now a popular solution in interior design. LED tape mounted along the window provides an additional source of light that brightens the room and creates a unique atmosphere. The light subtly surrounding the curtains looks impressive, especially in the evenings.
Mardom Decor has developed LightGuard® technology, which eliminates the shining of LEDs through the surface of the profiles. As a result, the illumination disperses evenly, with no spot reflections of light. You mount the curtain rod bezel with LED strip directly to the ceiling with mounting glue – without additional components or wrapping the strip with aluminum tape.
How to choose a grille to match the style of the interior?
The choice of a suitable curtain rod cover should take into account the style of the entire room. In minimalist interiors, simple, geometric profiles without additional decorations will work well. For a Scandinavian-style living room fit white, subtle masking profiles, which will emphasize the clarity and purity of lines.
Classical or glamour interiors will benefit from grilles with decorative grooves and ornaments. Such a choice will emphasize the representative appearance of the room and give it elegance. In industrial arrangements you can bet on contrasting dark curtain rod grilles, which will introduce a dramatic accent.
Remember that the grille does not have to function solo. Combination with cornice mouldings of the same profile will create a coherent composition that optically enlarges the space and gives the interior a harmonious look.
Practical issues of grille selection and installation
The height of the room determines the dimensions of the curtain profiles. In tall townhouses, profiles above 10 cm will work, in standard blocks of flats (230-270 cm) – models of about 8-10 cm, and in low rooms choose profiles no larger than 8 cm. The built-in profile must be at least 1 cm higher than the curtain rod mechanism.
The curtain rod cover should harmonize with the style of the interior. Mardom Decor products are coated with primer, so you can paint them with water-based paint in any color. You can match the shade to the walls, choose a contrasting black or keep the universal white.
Material and technology
The curtain rod masking profiles from Mardom Decor are made of PolyForce – waterproof polystyrene reinforced with special enhancers. The material is characterized by resistance to moisture, mechanical damage and UV radiation. Thanks to this, the curtain rod bezel can be installed in any room, including the bathroom or kitchen.
ScratchShield® technology increases resistance to scratches and dents. The masking profile maintains an impeccable appearance over years of use – it will not yellow, crumble or deform.
Grille distance from the wall and curtains
The curtain rod grille must not interfere with the free fall of the curtains. Measure the width of the window sill, radiator and other elements at the window, add 1-2 cm of safety – you will get the optimal distance from the wall. The masking profile should be a few centimeters away from the curtains, so that the material does not rub against the stucco.
How to install curtain profiles?
Before installation, prepare the ceiling surface – wash, vacuum and degrease. Mark the installation line with a pencil or scribe cord. Cut the corner elements at an angle of 45 degrees, using a hand saw with a bevel or an electric saw with a blade with a large number of teeth.
Apply glue to the top edge of the profiles and press them to the ceiling. Mardom Max glue provides fastening in as little as 8 seconds. Fill the gaps between the pieces with acrylic or white Mardom Fix Pro glue. Easy installation means you can build the curtain rod yourself.
