How to prepare the surface for the installation of lamellas?
The surface to be used for the installation of stucco must be carefully prepared. This determines the aesthetics, quality and durability of the finished arrangement. Even the best slatted wall panels decorative will not make a wow effect if you do not take care of the basics. How to properly prepare the wall?
First, clean it thoroughly from dust, dust, greasy stains and other dirt. To do this, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent or a special degreaser. Then leave the wall to dry completely – this is necessary for the adhesive to bond the surface well with slatted wall panels. After cleaning the wall, check its evenness. Remove any unevenness of the wall, larger than 2 mm, by filling it locally with smoothing compound. For finishing, choose a gypsum compound with a short drying time, ensuring quick completion of repair work.
After the applied compound has dried, smooth the surface with 120-180 grit sandpaper. Then carefully remove any remaining dust with a dry cloth or industrial vacuum cleaner.
Make sure the surface is completely dry before installing the lamellas. In the case of a freshly painted wall, wait a minimum of 48 hours until the paint or smoothness has reached full strength. If you start installation too soon, there is a risk that the lamellas will peel off. If the wall is covered with oil paint or acrylic-latex paint, perform an adhesive adhesion test on a small part of the surface. In case of poor adhesion, apply a layer of special primer to improve the adhesion of the mounting adhesive. Select a primer, designed for absorbent or non-absorbent surfaces, depending on the condition of the wall.

How does the installation of wall fins look like?
Now it’s time to draw a vertical baseline – this is best done with a laser or traditional level. This line will be the reference point when installing the first lamella. Remember that each subsequent profile must be placed parallel to it. Maintaining the spacing between slatted wall panels will affect the aesthetics of the entire composition. Fortunately, we have made sure that each end fits perfectly together, thanks to SeamlessFit technology. Selection of mounting adhesive
Which mounting adhesive you choose really matters. Our proprietary product will provide you with optimal adhesion to PolyForce® material and mounting stability. There are two products available for bonding fins:
- Mardom Fix Pro – is a solvent-free water-based mounting adhesive with high strength and excellent adhesion. It will work great on clean, smooth, dry and painted walls. You can also use it to mask joints or unevenness that occurred during the installation of the lamellas.
- Mardom Max – is a hybrid product, which is distinguished by its instant grip time and even extremely strong bond. We recommend it for difficult surfaces, such as slippery or rough ones.
Once you’ve chosen the glue, apply it to the back side using the strip method – avoid applying too much. Then press the fin firmly against the wall, keeping it stationary for a few seconds – our mounting glue needs about 8.
Type of fins vs. installation
We offer two types of white fins: matte and satin.
The SupremeSatin® satin surface laths, for example, LO1O1P, LO2O1P and LO3O1P, have a factory-applied RAL9003 finish. As a result, the installation process is completed immediately after the panels are attached to the wall. You do not need to perform additional finishing operations, including painting or varnishing. You can easily keep the finished surface clean by gently wiping it with a soft cloth or sponge with mild detergent.
In the case of matte lamellas, and including, LO1O1, LO2O1 and LO3O1, the surface is covered with a special primer – primer. This primer smooths the structure of the lamellas and provides excellent adhesion for water-based paints. After the installation, when the glue has completely set, you can start painting the panels. Use a water-based paint – latex, acrylic or ceramic.
Spray painting gives the best effect. If, however, you decide to paint with a brush, choose a tool with soft synthetic bristles. When applying paint, avoid excess – spread a thin layer with vertical movements. If using a roller, paint with short movements, avoiding applying thick layers of paint.
Wall quality
When the wall is particularly uneven or you are using the lamellas as a partition wall, consider mounting them on a lightweight plasterboard frame. To do this, prepare a support structure of aluminum profiles or wooden battens. Then fix slatted wall panels with glue or screws on the inside of the structure. This will give you durability and an excellent visual effect.

The play of light will allow you to emphasize the entire arrangement or create the desired atmosphere. Are you designing a home theater or a moody bedroom? In this case, thoughtful placement of LED strips is a must. Take advantage of the LED strips available in our online store. There are two types of light at your disposal:
- 3000 K – a warm hue that is a proven way to make a space cozy.

How to finish slatted wall panels on the edges?
You already know how to mount slatted wall panels. However, remember that it is the details that make the best effect, so it is important to take care of the finishing touches. To do this, use dedicated finials for the lamellas – left and right. Each design has matching finials, adapted to the shape and size. How do you finish slatted wall panels wall panels?
After arranging all the lamellas on the wall, install the left end on the left side of the composition, and the right end on the right. This will give you an aesthetically pleasing, symmetrical closure of the arrangement. Endings effectively mask the visible cross sections of the slats, improving the aesthetics of the finish and hiding the cut places. Install the terminations with the same glue as slatted wall panels. Spread the glue in strips along the termination. Then precisely press against the wall and adjacent trim. Make sure that the edges of the terminations perfectly adhere to the decorative panels.
Carefully selected side ends ensure the visual consistency of the decoration. They close the arrangement of the lamellas, giving them a harmonious appearance and preventing the discovery of unsightly gaps. In addition, they protect the structure of the lamellas from accidental mechanical damage during use of the room.
What to finish slatted wall panels near the floor?
You can finish the wall-mounted lamellas with a dedicated profiles skirting board. For black-colored lamellas, the best choice is skirting board MD359B, whose shade blends perfectly with the panels. For white lamellas, use profiles MD359, MDO14 or another profile that matches the depth of the mounted elements.
Skirting board has a decorative and protective function. It aesthetically masks the gap between slatted wall panels and the floor, protecting the lower part of the slats from mechanical damage. In addition, it makes it easier to keep clean around the decoration, preventing the accumulation of dust at the edges.
However, if you prefer a minimalist arrangement, you are not obliged to use skirting boards. Our slatted wall panels are suitable for mounting directly to the floor itself. In this case, take care to precisely cut the slats so that the installation line is even and aesthetically pleasing. A good solution will be the use of a slight expansion gap (about 1-2 mm), facilitating the free movement of the structure under the influence of temperature and humidity changes.
